Day 1
On arrival in Auckland, 'The City of Sails', seat in coach passengers will be met by our local representative and privately transferred to your hotel.
Day 2
Spend a morning discovering some of Auckland's most scenic highlights, from city streets to harbour vistas. Travel through the city centre, along eclectic Karangahape Road and fashionable Ponsonby to the Auckland Harbour Bridge, for fantastic views of the Hauraki Gulf and urban skyline. Pass through the Viaduct Harbour and visit bustling Queen Street on your way to the Auckland Domain, the city's oldest park. After visiting the Domain with its expansive green spaces, formal gardens and native bush, the tour continues to Parnell Village for a short morning tea stop (own expense). This chic shopping destination features restored historic buildings full of boutique, craft and specialty stores.Next, take a ride along Tamaki Drive on the waterfront to Michael Joseph Savage Memorial Park, a fantastic outlook and the perfect place to capture views of the city and its harbour. Day 3
Starting in Auckland, travel north on one of GreatSights' comfortable and air conditioned deluxe coaches. Sit back and relax as Northland's spectacular scenery passes by your window. After arriving in Paihia, you'll board the Dolphin Seeker, our purpose built catamaran licensed by the Department of Conservation for dolphin and whale viewing. Enjoy the large outdoor viewing decks as we cruise past the islands of the Bay. Keep a look out for common and bottlenose dolphins, whales and other marine life as our experienced local skippers get you up close to the action. Cruise past the Cape Brett Lighthouse, before arriving at the majestic Hole in the Rock. If conditions permit, your skipper will navigate right through the narrow space before heading back into the inner islands of the Bay. Once back in Paihia you'll board the return coach to Auckland. Discover three of Rotorua's best visitor attractions on this morning Rotorua sightseeing tour. Gain an insight into New Zealand's MÄori culture at Te Puia, then experience Rotorua's famous geothermal activity with a tour of the neighbouring Whakarewarewa Thermal Valley - a place where mud pools bubble and boil and geysers shoot steam high into the air. You'll also see Te Puia's woodcarving and weaving schools and see how these ancient MÄori art forms are being passed on to a new generation of master artists. Then see our agricultural industry in action at the Agrodome, a working organic farm where you can find out all about farming life in New Zealand, watch a sheep shearing display and see sheep dog trials where the hard-working farm dogs show off their amazing skills. A Great Sights vehicle will pick you up from your city hotel for your transfer to the Athol Street Car Park, Queenstown, the departure point of your tour. At 7:20am join your coach to commence a full day tour into the heart of Milford Sound. This is an unforgettable journey in which you'll experience the world famous fjord - rich in dense rainforest, glacier carved valleys and beautiful waterfalls. Journey across the Southern Alps, take photos of the stunning Mirror Lakes, uncover Eglinton Valley, a place of ancient alpine forest and gushing waterfalls, and then travel deep into the Homer Tunnel, a 1.2km tunnel drilled through solid rock, before walking across The Chasm. At the deep waters of Milford Sound, join a Southern Discoveries Scenic Cruise. Day 10
A Great Sights vehicle will pick you up from your accommodation for your transfer to The Station Information Centre, Corner Shotover and Camp Streets, Queenstown, the departure point of your tour. At 8:00am join your coach to commence a full day tour to Christchurch via Mount Cook. Depart Queenstown and travel through ruggedly beautiful landscape and over the Lindis Pass into the Mackenzie Country. Enter the amazing Aoraki / Mt Cook National Park, home to New Zealand's highest mountain. Stop for lunch and a chance to enjoy the amazing alpine scenery. Leave Aoraki/Mt Cook village in the afternoon and travel past Lake Pukaki to Lake Tekapo, where you can view the solitary Church of the Good Shepherd and take in the sights of the spectacular Southern Alps mountain range. Continue on through the diverse farmland of the Canterbury Plains to Christchurch.
